Jose Maria Gimenez, born on January 20, 1995, is currently a Uruguayan footballer for Atletico Madrid. Defensive position Jose Maria Gimenez joined Uruguay at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup as the team finished runners-up to France. He debuted for the Uruguay senior team in a World Cup qualifying round. 2014 against Colombia on September 10, 2013.

On 2 June 2014, Jose Maria Gimenez was named in the Uruguay squad for the 2014 World Cup finals.
