Pepi (born February 26, 1983) is a Brazilian footballer currently playing for the Portuguese national team Besiktas JK as a defender. During the 2010 World Cup, Pepi was a midfielder under coach Carlos Queiroz. After suffering a serious knee injury while playing for Real Madrid, he was selected for the semi-finals in South Africa and went on to play against Brazil in the semi-finals (0 -0) and Spain in the last 16. And in May 2018, he was named in Portugal's preliminary squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
